Combat in Sekiro revolves around the innovative Posture system. Instead of depleting enemy health alone, players must break enemy posture through perfectly timed parries, deflections and counterattacks to deliver deadly Deathblows. This design rewards aggressive, skillful play and punishes hesitation.
 

Stealth is equally important. Players can thin enemy ranks through assassinations, vertical movement and environmental awareness. Levels are more open and vertical than previous FromSoftware titles, encouraging exploration and creative approaches.
