With high anticipation and tons of prayers, I finally downloaded Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile, which was released yesterday, February 19, 2026. To be honest, the game did not meet my expectations. Take it as an opinion or a rant towards Ubisoft’s entry in handheld gaming, this game is way worse than FPS Strike Ops. Continuing the classic tactical shooter franchise, Ubisoft miserably failed again as they did with the prodigious Watch Dogs.
For those who are new to the Tom Clancy universe, Rainbow Six Mobile is a 5V5 tactical FPS shooter game where players join forces in teams called “Attackers” and “Defenders”, who plant and defuse bombs on designated sites.
If you love competitive esports like Counter-Strike 2, a tense environment with sweaty keyboard and an increase in cortisol level, you should definitely play the pc version. Still, if you are curious to download the smartphone version, be at your own risk, as you’ll constantly curse the developers!
Rainbow Six Mobile : What caused such frustration?
Undoubtedly! The game’s good if you are a newcomer to the franchise. Jam-Packed with a variety of operators with different arsenals and unique abilities, the game opens with a cutscene trailer that will increase your dopamine levels.
However, as soon as you log in and enter the main menu of the game, you’ll be doomed! With ample tutorial and game modes under maintenance, you’ll be forced to play Quickplay.

Well, the game just launched… You say, as your in-game friend, mark my words, the game feels laggy, and the characters are difficult to use effectively due to various mechanics stuffed on the screen! In fact, many Reddit users and analysts say that Rainbow Six Mobile is a complete mess, the movement feels chopped and clunky.”
How can a low-storage game cause laggy problems in flagship phones? It will remain a conspiracy until Ubisoft listens to the problems faced by millions of gamers. With a global release on February 23, 2026, many renowned gamers will surely point towards Ubisoft.
Why the Gameplay Sucks?
Being a Tactical FPS shooter, Rainbow Six Mobile misses fluid combat and its USP “Fast-Pace Gameplay through tight Quarters”.
Speaking of its explosive environment, the graphics sucks and with control excissevly stuffed on our screen, you’ll find difficulty aiming towards enemies while excavating your way to the designated sites with their so-called unique gadgets and explosives. If you are on good termswith Valorant agents and their playing style, then Rainbow Six Mobile is in your blood! Compared to the pc version, maps are wide with PVE mechanics, making it hard for players to understand the game.
I think Ubisoft wanted to convey fast-paced as the fast pacing of the match duration instead of their combat mechanics. For beginners, the tutorial feels short, which might become a major problem in fully adapting to ranked matches.
As a veteran player from the series, I grasped controls and the operator’s abilities in a couple of minutes, but if you are playing it for the first time, features like breaching doors with C4, creating barricades, and climbing ropes will be a hassle!
Shifting towards the arsenal section, primary and secondary weapons of each character are fixed; you cannot change the loadout according to your will. Still, if you are not satisfied with the allegedly customizable arsenal by Ubisoft, you can change weapon attachments, which every other game offers!

What’s More in this Overhyped Game?
The intensity is good, with too much blindspots on a map, players will need to take careful steps with proper strategic planning. Devs can definitely upgrade Rainbow Six Mobile by improving its UI (I just don’t want to be overwhelmed by my customized control layout).
The connectivity is gone! If you are stuck in a 1v3 clutch and all of a sudden your ping goes 60 from 30… It’s over. Demanding a very low ping, it's nearly impossible for gamers to play due to random fluctuations and low latency!
Are there any Pros of Rainbow Six Mobile?
Even Ubisoft doesn’t deserve this much hate, but we are bound by old oaths! The game is good, there’s a huge potential to become a benchmark for the upcoming tactical fps games. Coming down to the pros of the game :
- The game offers a variety of map selections and a plethora of operators at your disposal. Making it a fun interaction with every operator, this game aims to end your gaming boredom.
- Featuring a dynamic environment with so many controls sure adds depth to the gameplay.
- Speaking from experience, this game needs high IQ and patience like Grand Master Oogway. Every step is your grave, so the learning curve never ends in Rainbow Six Mobile.
- On the other hand, the Rainbow Six Mobile offers 60hz frame rate with specs that make it compatible with mid-range smartphones.
- Further, the game holds its essence to the original series, making it a nostalgic experience for veteran players!
Final Wordings
All in all, the game holds immense potential to beat games like COD Mobile and Delta Force, but I don’t think that Ubisoft will make any moves in improving this meta game. I bet the game will end like Call of Duty Warzone Mobile!
