Overwatch 2, developed by Blizzard Entertainment, is the next evolution of the popular hero-based shooter Overwatch. Switching from 6v6 to 5v5 gameplay, the sequel emphasizes faster pacing, clearer team roles, and more dynamic encounters. The game features a diverse roster of heroes divided into three roles: Tank, Damage (DPS), and Support. Each hero has unique abilities, ultimates, weapons and playstyles that significantly influence team composition and strategy.
 

The gameplay focuses on objective-based modes such as Push, Control, Escort, Hybrid and Flashpoint, along with rotating arcade modes and seasonal events. Maps span global locations—including Shambali Monastery, New Queen Street, Circuit Royal, Busan, Midtown and Route 66—each designed with lane structure, verticality, and hero-specific strategies in mind.
 

Overwatch 2 introduces new heroes like Sojourn, Kiriko, Junker Queen, Ramattra, Lifeweaver, Illari and more. Seasonal Battle Passes offer cosmetic rewards, mythic skins and limited-time events. The game also continues its PvE world through periodic story missions that expand the lore of Overwatch’s universe and its conflict with Null Sector.
 

Cross-play and cross-progression allow players to unify accounts across PC and consoles. Competitive mode features skill tiers, seasonal rankings and detailed performance tracking.
