On the ice, the Total Control system lets players perform more intuitive and complex deke moves using simplified button inputs, adding depth to offensive play. A Vision Passing System and redesigned passing mechanics grant greater precision and strategic playmaking. The Exhaust Engine models sustained offensive pressure, while the new Goalie Fatigue System affects netminder performance during long stretches of play, creating tension and realism.
 

Physicality gets a boost with physics-based contact and enhanced body checking, where hits can send opponents into benches and glass with believable reactions. These upgrades enhance the sport’s gritty, fast-paced nature and reward strategic physical play.
 

Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT) returns with online team-building and card progression, plus HUT Moments that let players relive iconic plays and moments from hockey history. The World of Chel mode offers customizable online experiences and for the first time the game delivers full crossplay support for Hockey Ultimate Team and World of Chel across platforms of the same generation, broadening the online community.
