Sekiro Adapts Anime Art Style: Trailer Breakdown

Those who haven’t touched the grass yet, the first official trailer dropped 6 months ago, which raised serious concerns regarding the art style and visuals. It’s more like “Sometimes may be good, sometimes may be shit”. However, Crunchyroll dropped the second official trailer, and it has created a huge wave of anticipation. The visuals, soundtrack, CGI, everything is just perfect.

According to the approx 2 minute trailer, the anime will adapt the official storyline from FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Set in a fictionalized Sengoku-period Japan, the storyline will focus on Wolf and his journey that depicts loyalty, revenge, and electrifying fights against rival clans, supernatural threats, and a feud against his own blood. Kicking off with an aura farming quote, “ I am the Shadow that follows the light”, the trailer depicts artistic visuals, tone, and a banger soundtrack that will definitely send a shiver down the spine. Delving deeper, the trailer showcases Wolf’s loyalty to Kuro while the “One-Hand Sekiro” fights his way out against formidable rivals like Isshin and Genichiro. Raising questions like “Why do you die?” & “Why do you live?” The art style truly adapts the essence of 90s anime. Somehow, the adaptation gives a similar vibe to Yasuke and Samurai Champloo. With pitch-perfect frames and textural highlights, the trailer ends with a cliffhanger, leaving millions of fans on the edge of their seats.
