Xiaomi is again the talk of the town as it introduced its latest phone in the POCO X series, and it’s officially Pro now. You heard that right. The tech giant is now offering POCO X8 Pro and Pro Max. The latter, of course, is better for obvious reasons. But we are here to talk about the former and compare it with Nothing Phone 4a, which was also released earlier this month in the market in a similar range.
In case you are among those who are trying to decide which phone of the two they should take home with them, you are in the right place, as we are about to help you choose one.
Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro vs Nothing Phone 4a Price
Base version of Xiaomi’s latest offering comes easy on your bank account, as it is available for about $380. Xiaomi has a history here, as it maintains its streak of delivering powerful devices at comparatively cheaper costs to its competitors. It figures. On the other hand, Nothing Phone 4a is tagged at around $450 as of this writing. But does this mean Nothing’s phone is better of the two? Keep on reading.

Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro vs Nothing Phone 4a Design
Like its price, Nothing Phone 4a is heavy with 204.5 gms. And, like its price, Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro is lighter at just 201 gms. On the rear also comes a unique Dynamic RGB light that dances through your music and pops when a notification pops. Nothing Phone 4a too has a similar system called the Glyph Bar, which is akin to its Glyph lighting that came with its predecessors but nothing colorful like the X8 Pro.
At the vanguard, both phones have the rigidity of Gorilla Glass 7i but differ in back frames. Nothing Phone 4a has a plastic frame and a glass back, while POCO X8 Pro has an aluminum frame. Lastly, X8 Pro is tagged with IP68 protection (and IP69K in some regions) and Phone 4a has an IP64 rating, which means Xiaomi again stands tall against dust and water resistibility.

Oh, we almost forgot. You’ll also find a 3.5mm jack in X8 Pro, something that’s almost nowhere to be found in the latest smartphones. So, go unpack those classic wired earphones to feel the music and nostalgia in your ears. Oh, the good ol’ days.
Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro vs Nothing Phone 4a Display
Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro isn’t just colorful on the outside, thanks to the Dynamic RGB lights, but from the inside too, as it is loaded with 68 billion colors as compared to Nothing Phone 4a, which comes with just 1 billion colors on the screen. X8 Pro has a slightly better resolution too with 1268 x 2756 pixels against Phone 4a’s 1224 x 2720 pixels. However, both the phones come with a 120Hz refresh rate, so that’s one tie there.

Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro vs Nothing Phone 4a Performance
We’ll make a comparison in a few seconds but you must know that Nothing Phone 4a is actually a downgrade in this aspect, as it comes with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, while its predecessor is already equipped with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. Xiaomi POCO X8 comes with a different one, Mediatek Dimensity 8500 Ultra. Even Mediatek Dimensity 8400 is far more capable than Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset so we should actually avoid comparing this.
Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro vs Nothing Phone 4a Power
By this point, Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro has proven itself to be a far more powerful device of the two already, and that is true for the battery too. It comes with a 6500 mAh battery, which is, again, far more powerful than Nothing Phone 4a’s 5080 mAh battery. Both of them have reverse charging too where 4a acts as a 7.5W power bank and POCO X8 Pro a heavy 27W power bank.
Xiaomi POCO X8 Pro vs Nothing Phone 4a Camera
Though Xiaomi phones are going hard on cameras, if you’ll look at 17 Ultra, Nothing Phone is the winner in this particular comparison as it comes with a 50MP + 50MP + 8MP rear camera as compared to X8 Pro’s 50MP + 8MP cam. Alright Nothing, we’ll give you that.
The Clear Winner?
Of course, it’s Xiaomi X8 Pro. In one line, it comes with far more features than Nothing Phone 4a and at a comparatively cheaper price. Don’t think twice on which phone to buy. X8 Pro is without a shadow of a doubt the superior one.
