Animal Crossing New Horizons (Switch 2 Edition) : This would be more than a simple port; it’s going to be a total technical overhaul. Expect 4K docked resolution and a ‘Seamless Travel’ feature that eliminates those annoying loading screens when visiting friends' islands.

2XKO : Riot Games finally enters the fighting game arena with a 2v2 tag-team brawler. Featuring League of Legends icons, it’s designed to be ‘easy to play but impossible to master,’ backed by the best netcode in the industry.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (Switch 2) : Seeing Cloud Strife running on a Nintendo handheld at stable 30fps is the ultimate flex for the Switch 2’s new hardware. It includes the INTERmission DLC with the teenage ninja Yuffie..

The Best of the Month

Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) : Set 28 years after the Raccoon City incident, this ninth installment introduces Grace Ashcroft alongside series legend Leon S. Kennedy. It will feature a amazing "Perspective-Switch" mechanic where Grace handles the survival horror (1st person) and Leon handles the action (3rd person).

Nioh 3 : Team Ninja returns to its soulslike roots, taking the combat depth of the first two games and applying it to a bigger world. The ‘Living Weapon’ system has been completely reimagined for the PS5’s DualSense feedback. Overall, it’s about time that we found out if Nioh 3 is an alternative to Ghost Of Tsushima.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 : Fans have begged for this for years. This is a ground-up remake of Kazuma Kiryu’s Okinawan adventure using the Dragon Engine, making those beach-side orphanage moments look more beautiful (and heartbreaking) than ever.

March : The "Thursday" Rush

March 5th is officially the busiest day in gaming history. Good luck choosing between a deck-builder, a shooter, and a Pokémon sim.

Pokémon Pokopia : Imagine the cozy vibes of Animal Crossing mixed with Pokémon habitat management. You play as ‘Ditto’ rebuilding a barren landscape, using your transformations to clear obstacles and attract legendary guests to your town.

Marathon : Bungie is back to its sci-fi roots with a high-stakes extraction shooter on March 5th, 2026. Striking neon-cyberpunk aesthetics, "server-wide" events, need we say more?

Death Stranding 2 On the Beach : With Norman Reedus returning as Sam Porter Bridges, expect even more mind-bending traversal mechanics and a story that will require at least three 4-hour YouTube breakdowns to explain.

Darwin's Paradox! : Konami’s sleeper hit features an octopus named Darwin who is essentially the "James Bond of the ocean." It utilizes a "Tactical Tentacle" stealth system where you use camouflage and environment-based puzzles to navigate a sci-fi world. It’s a beautifully animated combination of cinema and gameplay.

Replaced : After multiple delays, the world’s most stylish 2.5D action-platformer is finally here. Set in an alternative 1980s, you play as AI trapped in a human body. Its ‘cinematic pixel art’ style makes every frame look like a high-budget music video.

Pragmata : Capcom’s most mysterious IP finally touches down. Taking place on a near-future Moon, you play as Hugh, a spacesuit-clad mercenary protecting an android girl named Diana. It’s a weird mix of puzzle-solving and heavy action that feels like an extension of Capcom games that came out in the early 2000s.

Diablo IV Lord of Hatred : The second major expansion for D4 is a game-changer. Not only does it move the story into the heart of Kurast, but it finally brings back the Paladin class. With a focus on "Heavenly Fire" and group-buffing auras, it’s going to be a banger for both social players and solo grinders.

The Best of the Month

007 First Light : Developed by the masters of stealth at IO Interactive (the ‘Hitman’ guys), this is an origin story for a young James Bond. It combines social stealth with the brutal, cinematic and high-octane fights that the franchise is known for.

Forza Horizon 6 : Taking the festival to Japan (finally!), FH6 features the most detailed neon-lit streets and mountain drift passes in racing history. Gamers across the web are already speculating what could make Forza Horizon 6 outclass every other racing game in its category.

Paralives : The indie "Sims-killer" finally enters Early Access. With creative build tools and a deep personality-building (and keeping) system, it’s the first real competition the life-sim genre has seen in around twenty years.

June-August : Time to Pick Up Handhelds

June, July, and August, will be like the ‘Victory Lap’ for the Nintendo Switch 2, bringing some of the most technically demanding games in history to a portable screen for the first time.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Switch 2) : After such a long time of "Will they or won't they?" Cloud and the gang are finally landing on Nintendo. Using the Switch 2's DLSS capabilities, the game maintains a crisp 1080p in handheld mode. It’s the ultimate way to explore open-world regions like the Grasslands or Junon.

Beast of Reincarnation : This is a massive milestone, it's the first AAA action RPG from Game Freak (the Pokémon people) that isn't a Pokémon game. You play as Emma, a warrior fused with plant-life, using vine-like hair to grapple and fight through a post-apocalyptic Japan.

MARVEL Tōkon Fighting Souls : Developed by the fighting game guys at Arc System Works (Guilty Gear), this 4v4 fighter will be released on 6th August 2026. The "Tōkon" (Fighting Spirit) mechanic allows for massive, screen-filling team combos that make ‘Marvel vs. Capcom’ fights look like a joke.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 : The "Kept you waiting long enough, huh?" award goes to Konami. This collection is finally playable on modern hardware for the first time in so many years. It also includes the fan-favorite Peace Walker and the weirdly wonderful Ghost Babel.

Grand Theft Auto VI : The biggest launch of (literally) all time. Set in a modern-day Leonida (Florida), GTA VI follows the duo of Lucia and Jason. Rockstar has promised a level of NPC intelligence and world density that makes previous open worlds look like the 90s.

Marvel's WolverineInsomniac is finally ditching the ‘teen-rated’ Spider-Man vibes for a dark, broody, and unapologetically violent R-rated Logan story. The combat focuses on ‘Berserker Rage’ and environmental destruction as you track down Omega Red and the Sentinels.

The Best of the List

MARVEL 1943: Rise of Hydra : Directed by Amy Hennig (the mind behind Uncharted), this is a narrative-driven powerhouse based in Paris. You’ll be swapping between a young, unpolished Steve Rogers and Azzuri (the WWII-era Black Panther). Built on Unreal Engine 5.4, the "Nanite" tech is doing some heavy lifting here - the facial animations are so realistic you can practically see the stress in Cap’s eyes.

Onimusha Way of the Sword : Capcom is finally ending the decade-long drought for samurai-horror fans. The classic "Soul Absorption" mechanic returns, but it’s been tied to a new "stance" system that rewards perfect parries with fantastic supernatural finishers. It’s the darker, more demonic cousin to Ghost of Tsushima (in a way).

Silent Hill Townfall : Co-produced by Annapurna Interactive and No Code (Observation), Townfall is taking the legendary horror franchise in a more experimental, psychological direction. This would be a slow-burn "found footage" descent into madness. Rumors suggest the game will have a real-time "Sanity Filter" that subtly alters the environment and audio based on how long you stare into the fog. Very ‘Art-house’!

Also Read : Silent Hill Games Chronological Order : What You Should Know Before Silent Hill Townfall Launch

Terminator Survivors : Nacon is pivoting the franchise into the open-world survival craft genre, and it seems terrifying. Set in the years immediately following Judgment Day, you play a scavenger. The hook? There is a single, relentless T-800 hunting your group across the map ‘at all times’.

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis : The ‘Unified Timeline’ era of Lara Croft will begin with this one. Crystal Dynamics, with Legacy of Atlantis, is bringing Lara who’s hunting for the sunken continent using a new ‘Vertical Exploration’ engine that makes climbing and diving feel very real. It’s the homecoming Lara fans have been demanding for about a decade.

The 2027 Horizon : Projects We’re Manifesting into Reality

By the time these games actually release, you’ll probably be on your third re-run of GTA VI. These "Distant Future" titles are currently in the ‘Pinky Promise’ phase of development. They’re gorgeous, ambitious, promising, and safely tucked away in the 2027–2030 window where they can’t hurt your wallet…yet.

The Future Legends

Tomb Raider Catalyst (2027) : While Legacy of Atlantis (2026) is a remake, Catalyst is the brand-new story. Set in Northern India, it will feature the ‘largest map in franchise history’.

The Witcher 4 (2027) : CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Geralt’s story is done. The new teaser shows a School of the Lynx medallion. It's being built in Unreal Engine 5, with a heavy focus on ‘Motion Matching’ for incredibly fluid horse riding and sword combat.

God of War Trilogy Remake : Revealed at the February 2026 State of Play. It’s a massive undertaking to bring the original PS2/PS3 Greek saga (GOW 1-3) into the modern style of the Norse games. T.C. Carson is reportedly returning to voice Young Kratos.

Marvel’s Iron Man & Blade : Iron Man (EA Motive) would be a single-player, open-world flight. It’s still in early production, focusing on making the suit feel like a "transformative" piece of tech rather than just a skin.

Marvel’s Blade : A "mature" immersive sim set in a quarantined Paris. Expect Dishonored-style stealth but with significantly more decapitations and silver stakes.

John Wick : Revealed in February 2026 by Saber Interactive. It’s a third-person "Gun-Fu" action game set years before the first movie. Keanu Reeves is fully involved, providing the voice and likeness for a younger, even more dangerous Baba Yaga.

The Wolf Among Us 2 : After years of silence, Telltale is finally back with a banger. It’s being built in UE5 and will reportedly be released episodically (but with all episodes finished before the first one drops) to avoid the delays that plagued their image the last time.

The Final Level: Is Your Wallet Ready?

If 2025 was the 'calm before the storm,' 2026 is the Category 5 hurricane that’s about to destroy your social life. We haven't seen a year this top-heavy in decades.

The gaming industry isn't just releasing games anymore - it's creating entire ecosystems for us to live in. Whether you're a 'arcade shooter' hunting down enemies for points, a 'mutant' hunting those who wronged you in Canada, or just a simple villager waiting to see Animal Crossing in 4K, 2026 has a seat at the table for you.

Advice from OrbeatX? Start clearing that backlog now, invest in a super-comfy chair, and maybe tell your family you love them before November 19th rolls around. Once we gamers head to Leonida, we might not be coming back for a while.
