Matches pit two teams against each other—Attackers and Defenders—in objective-based rounds. Attackers aim to plant the Spike, while Defenders must stop them or defuse it. Each round features a buy phase where players purchase weapons, shields, and ability charges.
 

Agents are divided into four roles: Duelists, Controllers, Initiators, and Sentinels. Each agent—such as Jett, Reyna, Sage, Omen, Sova, Chamber, Killjoy, Raze, Viper and others—has a unique kit that shapes tactics and team compositions. Abilities include smokes, flashes, drones, healing orbs, traps, teleportation and powerful ultimates that can shift the momentum of a match.
 

VALORANT features a growing map pool including Ascent, Haven, Bind, Split, Breeze, Lotus, Sunset, Icebox and more. Each map offers strategic angles, chokepoints and utility-based gameplay that rewards coordination and planning.
 

Ranked mode is a major part of the experience, ranging from Iron to the prestigious Radiant tier. With constant patches, new agents, balance changes and esports tournaments under the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), the game maintains a thriving competitive scene.
