Monster Hunter Rise, developed and published by Capcom, is a high-energy action RPG that reimagines Monster Hunter gameplay with enhanced mobility and faster-paced combat. Originally designed for Nintendo Switch and later expanded to other platforms, Rise draws inspiration from traditional Japanese aesthetics and folklore.
 

Players take on the role of a hunter from Kamura Village, a settlement threatened by a catastrophic event known as the Rampage—a horde of monsters attacking in massive waves. To protect the village, hunters must master new mechanics, weapons and strategies.
 

The standout feature is the Wirebug system, which allows players to grapple through the air, run along walls, perform aerial attacks and execute powerful Silkbind moves unique to each weapon. This system dramatically increases verticality, speed, and combat creativity compared to previous Monster Hunter titles.
 

Rise introduces Palamutes, canine companions that can be ridden into battle, used for fast traversal, sharpening weapons while moving and performing coordinated attacks. Traditional Palicoes return with expanded support abilities, traps and gadgets.
 

Another major addition is Wyvern Riding, enabling players to temporarily control large monsters and use them to attack other creatures or smash them into terrain for massive damage. This system replaces traditional mounting with a more cinematic and strategic approach.
 

Combat remains deep and skill-based, featuring all 14 weapon types, each enhanced with new Silkbind attacks and Switch Skills that allow players to customize move sets. Environments are more open and vertical, encouraging exploration and fluid movement.
