Spider-Man 3 To Release in 2028? Everything We Know So Far

It’s been a few years since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 came out, where Kraven the Hunter sought a warrior’s death and Peter Parker struggled with the symbiote we know as Venom. We are yet to hear the official announcement on Spider-Man 3 but rumors are there that the game is being developed.

An industry insider on social media platform Twitter (now X) called TCMFGames gave an update on it. Hinting that the video game may be called Spider-Man 3: The End Game. But the main attraction in the post was the image of Peter Parker's motion capture actor, Ben Jordan. It was a screenshot from his Instagram story and he was wearing mocap accessories with the text there reading “IYKYK.”

However, that doesn’t confirm that the game is likely to arrive in 2028, or be arriving ever. It might be that Spidey’s appearance is set for a different Marvel game, probably the upcoming Wolverine or a potential Venom game, which Insomniac has teased quite a few times before.

Spider-Man 3’s Release Was Leaked by Hackers

Despite the silence by Insomniac on the game, its potential release was leaked in 2023. According to that event, it is set for a 2028 release. It also mentioned a Venom spin-off in development (but without a release) and Wolverine for 2026, which is already confirmed with a bloody trailer currently live on YouTube.

Other projects like X-Men games are in line now, and given that all of these are set in the same universe, Peter Parker may appear in any of these projects other than the third Spider-Man game.

Where Might the Story Go in the Third Game?

The story of the third Spider-Man game is a matter of speculation at this point but Insomniac’s senior creative director gave a hint about it after Spider-Man 2’s release.

“If Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales were like our Iron Man, and Spider-Man 2 was like a Civil War,” he said on the Friends Per Second podcast. “Where logically do we go from there? I think it would be pretty epic.”

If we look at the grand Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s all boiling down to a ‘Doomsday,’ where X-Men are about to appear. Perhaps it will be their one last stand. Could be the case with their gaming counterparts too.
