Leaks and theories are what keep the game alive before its launch… and we are so back as Rockstar’s fanbase has spilled some tea, and this time it's spreading like wildfire. With a few months to go, speculation has flooded the Internet, driven by fake gameplay leaks. An AI-generated leak from X.com (Formerly Twitter) did what Rockstar couldn’t do in their entire life, turning 8 million views into a furious crowd.

After the major breach in 2022, this might be the chance for several creators to shine again on various social media platforms with their bizarre theories related to the footage, which revealed character switching between Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, (for those who are still in a bubble, GTA 6 is the first-ever game that will offer a female protagonist).

Revisiting the hotline, let’s unravel some of the most pitch-perfect fan theories that could appear in the latest instalment!

5 GTA 6 Fan Theories that Every Gamer Must Know

Believing in fan theories sure takes a lot of brainstorming, and I suggest you take these fan theories with a grain of salt until GTA 6 trailer 3 drops, as the game is still in the post production stage.

  • Plot : According to many subreddits like r/GTA6 and r/GamingLeaksAndRumors, the plot will showcase Lucia abandoning her baby before heading out for the bank robbery, which leads to her arrest. Although this theory seems absolutely bogus, fans are contemplating that GTA 6 will not have any kids (a vivid past for Lucia) in the entire gameplay.
  • Diving further into the theory, players will control Jason, who plans a bank heist with Lucia at a nightclub called “Vault” after her release from prison, as the trailer confirmed dual protagonists. Fans worldwide believed that the relationship would revolve around a Bonnie and Clyde-style narrative, suggesting that the endgame might follow choices that alter the gameplay, while delivering alternative endings.
  • Gameplay Mechanics : Many critics, like Valuable Economist14 and TheSoleWolf from the Nether of Reddit, speculate that the game will have new mechanisms to detect threats and valuable items around you. Inspired by the mechanics of RDR 2, and Hank’s waffle dining robbery leak revealed a year ago. Although it seems like a good theory to yap on, the game genre heavily focuses on a chaotic environment rather than stealth and hacks from the Watch Dogs franchise. Meanwhile, some fans predict that the latest instalment will now have more than 70% of enterable buildings, making the game more interactive with intriguing interiors.
  • Trailer-Foreshadowing : All hail to RogerRoger63358 from r/GTA6 for decoding one of the major plot twists from the history of Rockstar Games. Although it's just a speculation, the depiction caught my eye! Rockstar Games is well known for its creative ideas to hide major plots in the trailer. From GTA IV to RDR 2, several canon events have been hidden by Rockstar Games, like Arthur’s contact with tuberculosis and Nico confronting Darco; all these generic-looking scenes have shocked players through their foreshadowing.

All in all, the gist suggests that one of the protagonists showcased in the trailer can be an undercover cop, a mole, or can betray for vengeance (Finally, a theory that can beat One Piece speculators)

  • In-game Social Media System : The next-gen GTA is all set to drop on November 19, 2026. But what makes GTA a next-gen game? A heavily speculated topic revealed that GTA 6 might have a feature of an in-game social media system, allowing you to doom scroll all the chaotic events happening in the State of Leonida. A top-tier theory to vouch for, as the first trailer heavily showcased the usage of social media and NPCs doing random brainrot online. Rockstar, if you are seeing this, please add some platforms and learn from Insomniac for giving a crazy in-game social media system in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
  • Third-Playable Character : A remarkable theory to invest in! GTA 6 might have a third playable character who will be working behind the scenes (maybe the main antagonist). According to the second trailer, several characters were seen while Jason and Lucia worked their sweats off to loot ample money. What really captures my interest is the police officer, who seemed tense about the crime syndicate in Vice City. Speculating that one of the protagonists might be an undercover cop, the officer showcased in the trailer acts with a poker face. On the contrary, the officer might be related to the crime syndicate that cleans off the evidence after every heist and heinous crime by our duo protagonists.
  • Bonus Theory : According to my perspective, GTA 6 devs might work on their NPCs and police forces (who are crazy dumb in GTA V). I think that GTA 6 will add NPCs with good IQ, who will be aware of your doings, and social media as their weapons, they can post your crime online, a great inspiration from the NPCs of RDR 2.
