Every time a new game is announced, it immediately captures fans’ attention, and most importantly the expectations, as I noticed for the WWE 2K26. Personally,  I enjoy experiences like WWE 2K, but honestly speaking, the upcoming 2k26 title can pull more fans in if it manages to consider some adjustments. If you have the same POV as me, I can feel you with this.

Gameplay Should Be More Realistic

This is the prime stuff that every fan waiting for the title is discussing. As a hardcore fan of action-packed titles, I want 2k26 to be closer to a real-life WWE match instead of looking predictable. Matches should feel dynamic, where the character’s skills can change the movements. For example, reversals must rely more on timing and player’s awareness. Additionally, wrestlers should react more naturally and the opponent AI should improve so that matches feel real rather than being obvious.

Better and More Match Types Could Make a Big Difference

No matter how good the gameplay turns out to be in the final draft, if it seems repetitive and gives me the vibe of being stuck in one thing, it's a turn-off for me. What I want from 2k26 is more variety of matches, like Lumberjack matches, I Quit matches, and classic stipulations that could actually raise the bar on how titles like this should feel. On the top of that, making Royal Rumbles and multi-man matches smoother would be the icing on the cake to make the title more exciting to play for the long-time. 

More Creative Freedom Could Turntables

Creating wrestlers is an essential task in games like WWE 2K26, and for me, it determines how fun the title is.  I personally wish for more freedom, for example, more CAW slots so that I don’t have to remove the characters, entrance music and videos and have better gear options that let me do what I actually want to. If Visual Concepts and 2K Sports serve something like that, it will motivate players to create their own universe, and honestly, I am manifesting that outcome. 

Better Stories in Universe Mode Can Attract More Fans

This is another area where I really want WWE 2K26 to shine. I really want that Universe Mode should be enjoyable to play and attract me to spend hours and hours on it. Deeper rivalries, surprising twists and turns, and meaningful moments during matches would help build the story a game geek like me truly enjoys. To make the mode more engaging, the developers could add a more expanded story-driven approach. Keeping everything in all, the Universe Mode needs to be less repetitive and more alive so that I can keep players hooked on it for a long time. 

Presentation Really Needs Improvement

If you are tired of hearing the repetitive commentary and crowd reactions, then I got you, buddy! Even minor updates like fresh commentary lines, louder and reactive crowds and smarter camera angles can turn things favourable for the title. These types of tweaks keep the matches interesting and overall experience fresher to the fans without interfering with the core of the gameplay. 

Notable Changes That Can Immediately Turn Heads 

Expectations for the WWE 2K26 are skyrocketing day by day as the game gets closer to launch date. Besides these tweaks that I have mentioned above, the following changes focus on refining the core mechanics that could genuinely make 2k26 more appealing for the hardcore fans and even casual gamers. 

  • Freedom from “Forced Grapple System”.
  • Revamped submission mechanics, like rope crawling and “passing out” animations, especially for John Cena or Stone Cold.
  • More realistic reactions and injuries (like limb damage).
  • Real-feel weapons and environment interaction.
  • New and improved journey mode (MyRISE). 

Wrapping-Up

Considering all the corners, I feel that WWE 2K26 has enormous potential if it considers these changes. Factors like smarter AI, polished gameplay and better modes could make it a banger. At this stage, I am excited to witness whether and what WWE 2K26 could actually serve when it finally releases.
