Avowed Will Run at 60 FPS on Xbox Series X, Confirms Obsidian

Are you eager to dive into the enormous world of Avowed? Well, you need to wait for it, as it is scheduled for release on February 18, 2025.

But, you might be surprised by the trending gossip about the upcoming action-based game. Curious enough to know about it? Isn’t it? Don’t worry as the next phrases will explain the matter.

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed is an upcoming game where you will notice a mysterious world packed with deadly dangers and adventure. This game will test your skills to thrive in adverse conditions and save the world.

Whatever path you choose along your journey will decide your fate and bring respective consequences.

Will Avowed Run At 60 FPS On Xbox Series X?

Last year, Matt Hansen, the art director, said that the developer had decided to stick to 30 FPS as Avowed is a single-player game and doesn’t necessarily require 60 FPS. Hansen added that 30 FPS will provide the essential VFX and lightning.

However, recently, Avowed director Carrie Patel was interviewed on a famous YouTube channel, MinnMax. During the interview, the host, Ben Hanson, asked the director about the game's framerate on Xbox Series X.

She confirmed that the game can run at 60 FPS, allowing the players to enjoy a smooth and enjoyable gaming experience. Even generally, 60 FPS is considered a standard frame rate in the gaming world.

Even a Reddit user with early access to the game revealed that Avowed will offer the following framerate options according to the platform:

  • For Xbox Series X: 30, 40, and 60 FPS at launch
  • For Xbox Series S: 30 and 40 FPS at launch

With an estimate, the 30 FPS will deliver the best graphics at the highest resolution on Xbox Series X and S. The 40 FPS will provide balanced graphics on both platforms.

Interestingly, the 60 FPS mode is available for the Xbox Series X, offering a higher frame rate than others by compromising the resolutions and settings.

Do you really think that the news has come to an end? No!! You have many more to hear regarding the interview.

Patel also added that the action-centric game will not focus on any world, but will provide an open zone for players for vast explorations. Additionally, she said that Avowed will have the same approach as The Outer Worlds concerning scale and size.

In the interview, Patel confirmed that Avowed will not feature any microtransactions, but players can see DLCs in the future. She said that the largest cities within the game would consist of nearly 100 NPCs, a quite impressive figure that adventurers would love to interact with.

Patel further added that the delay in the release of Avowed in 2025 is an indication of what improvements the team has gone through to make the gameplay even richer. When asked for a probable sequel to the upcoming action game, the director said it could hypothetically be possible.

Is There Any Possibility of Avowed’s PlayStation Version?

Ben Hanson asked the director to breathe as a secret sign to indicate whether the game would be coming to PS5. To this request, she smiled and agreed and chose not to comment any further.

The gesture made by her confirmed that Avowed could arrive on the PlayStation. But, the exact details and announcement regarding the same is yet to be declared.

Wrapping-Up

It is evident that earlier, Hansen declared about 30 FPS for Avowed, but the recent interview with Carrie Patel brought great news as players can witness 60 FPS mode upon the game's release. It will be exciting to know whether the game can fulfill the player’s expectations after the launch.
