The announcement of the Harry Potter TV series was nothing less than a dream come true for Potterheads all across the globe. However, the recent buzz related to the casting has garnered a lot of reactions, and not so positive ones, from the fans. Currently, most of the cast members have not been revealed or may be undecided as well. As for the information available online, Janet McTeer is in talks to play Professor Minerve McGonagall.

And that my friends have been welcomed with a lot of backlash online. The main reason behind the same is that the fans of the franchise are unable to imagine any other actors playing the characters instead of the original cast. We will most probably get to see this kind of reaction for almost every actor that is going to be a part of the upcoming series.

Not to forget that there are a plethora of positive reactions related to the same. While some fans are straight up asking blatant questions like, 'Why they are doing this,' others are satisfied and suggesting that it is nothing less than a perfect casting.

Why is a Harry Potter TV series a good decision?

See, the last movie from the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, was released in 2011. While we can't deny there is still a majority of people who watch those movies, Warner Bros. are definitely eyeing to gain new fans. Furthermore, with the help of the series, the franchise will be able to establish a connection between the OG and the newbie fans.

The only challenge here will be to fulfill the expectations of the Potterheads and don't miss out on the essence of the wizarding world. Now, keeping in mind that the Harry Potter TV series by HBO is going to be a remake of the original films, we can expect more detail and depth in characters as a series can do that better than a movie due to longer time duration.

And I'll be not surprised if it consists of multiple seasons, like even more than half a dozen seasons to be honest. On a concluding note, it will be nothing less than a bag full of Nostalgia for all the Potterheads if the casting and direction are on point.
